The City has robust contract governance practises and adopts a variety of contract management models to cater for different contract categories, levels of risk and varying requirements across the organisation. The Contract Governance Manager is responsible to the Strategic Contract Manager for the development and monitoring of the Council's contract management capability, ensuring value for money outcomes and service objectives to ensure activities are in line with local government procurement principles and best practice. This role has one direct report.
The Contract Governance team plays a key role in coaching and mentoring business Contract Managers through the provision of relevant contract management training, reviews and expert advice. You will also be working to develop proactive management capability by improving the Contract Management Framework and the implementation of a Contract Management ICT Solution.
You will have strong verbal and written communication skills, stakeholder engagement skills, the ability to review and analyse data and experience in working with contracts combined with sound knowledge of the City's procurement and contracts governance policy and processes. In addition, experience implementing change projects or facilitating learning would be looked upon favourably. To be successful you will need to have extensive contract management or procurement governance experience and ideally you will also hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or an equivalent qualification.
