Council is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced person to supervise and lead the Parks and Gardens team.
This role is responsible for the management and maintenance of Council’s parks and gardens while also working hands on in the field.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare maintenance programs within the parks and gardens area of operations including the preparation of works schedules and the repair of irrigation systems as required.
- Assist the Works Coordinator in the preparation of annual budgets.
- Provide active leadership to, and encourage the further development of, the parks and gardens team. Perform annual appraisals and identify staff training needs.
- Available for emergency after hours callouts as required.
- Ensure all parks and gardens employees operate all plant and equipment in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
- Assist the Works Coordinator in the selection / replacement of mechanical plant and equipment applicable to the parks and gardens area.
- Manage public complaints / enquiries including liaison and initiation of required actions.
- Provide advice to Council officers in relation to tree and landscaping matters.
- Other duties, including administration duties, as directed in accordance with the responsibility and skill level of the position.

Remuneration will be based on Band 5 classification of the Mansfield Shire Council Enterprise Agreement 2019.
