The Library Support Services team are seeking a skilled Librarian to join the Library Collections team at Town Hall. The City of Sydney local area has a diverse population with people from a wide variety of cultural and social backgrounds. Almost half of our residents were born overseas and approximately 30% speak a language other than English. After English, common languages spoken are Chinese, Thai, Indonesian and Korean. City of Sydney Library provides access to a range of quality Community Language collections including Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, Korean, Russian, Thai, and Vietnamese collections to the Sydney community.
The primary purpose of this role is to:
To be successful in this role you will have a university tertiary degree, or near completion, in Library and Information Studies, proficiency in English and Chinese, excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, cataloguing knowledge and enthusiasm to work in the Collections team.
