About the Opportunity

In this role you will undertake activities that will assist in the maintenance of Council’s Open Space inclusive  passive parks, sportsgrounds, streetscapes, golf courses, tree operations, recreation facilities, bushland and riparian areas and ensure that these Open Spaces remain in excellent condition, safe and suitable for use by the community. You will also assist in ensuring customer and community satisfaction with Councils parks operations.


To be considered for these positions you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications, experience and demonstrated understanding of park maintenance and industry best-practice
  • Demonstrated experience operating parks maintenance related plant and equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to deal in a positive and courteous manner with the public and other workers.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills – ability to write clearly and neatly when completing necessary paperwork
  • Ability to work as part of a team with good interpersonal skills
  • Sound knowledge and practical application of WHS principles and the Work Health and Safety legislation

Salary: Employment is under the Local Government (State) Award. These positions are placed in Grade 4 of Cumberland salary structure with a salary range of $901.27 to $1,027.46 per week plus superannuation. Commencement salary will depend upon qualifications, experience and competencies. If offered and accepted, the applicant will be transferred to the new position and the salary, terms & conditions will be negotiable.


Conditions of Employment: This role is a permanent full time position, standard working hours are Monday to Friday 6.30am - 3.00pm. This position will work a 70 hour, 9 day fortnight.
