The Opportunity

The purpose of the TasWater Capital Delivery Office (CDO) is to position our business to fulfil our customer promises for improved service levels by delivering an accelerated capital program.  The CDO is an Alliance between TasWater, UGL, CPB and partner WSP that brings together expertise across the project delivery cycle.

There are two positions available that will provide engineering support, advice, design input, and design management to enable the delivery of projects and/or programs of works for the efficient upgrade and creation of water and wastewater assets, with a particular focus on water and wastewater pipeline assets.  These positions can be based in Hobart or Launceston.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide input to business case authors on civil/hydraulic requirements.
  • Manage timelines and quality associated with civil/hydraulic discipline inputs into task notices and task budget requests for design and engineering tasks.
  • Develop or procure concept, preliminary or detailed designs for civil/hydraulic assets.
  • Ensure pipeline and related solutions are deliverable, fit for purpose, to relevant standards, and that cost estimates are accurate.
  • Prepare detailed documentation and specification requirements for pipeline and related components in order to support procurement and delivery of allocated projects.
  • Manage consultants engaged to undertake pipeline and related assets investigations, planning, design and documentation.

Your Application

Your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the selection criteria in the Position Description, summarised as follows:

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline such as Electrical Engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge of and demonstrated professional experience in pipeline and related civil / hydraulic assets, particularly relating to the water utility sector or similar.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Current C class manual driver's licence.
