Support Services Engineer



Do you thrive on work diversity and have a desire to achieve collective goals and objectives? Are you seeking an opportunity to work within local government? If yes, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to join the Infrastructure Works team.


In this role you will coordinate and review the Shire’s infrastructure plans and strategies. It will involve the preparation, maintenance and revision of strategies for general community buildings and facilities, council buildings, roads, paths, bridges, jetties, boat ramps, stormwater drains, coastal, flood plain and marine infrastructure.


To be successful you will hold a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, and have success in managing and developing technical and operational staff to create efficiencies in operations and performance. You will also have a management background in at least one function area of either bridges, marine structures or workshop, and relevant experience in contract/project management.


We are looking for a high performing team player who is willing and able to collaborate and support the organisation to ensure all objectives are met, as well as show initiative and perform well under pressure to deliver good outcomes for the community. Sound written communication and computer literacy skills, and a genuine focus on providing high levels of customer service are also highly regarded.


Total remuneration for the role is in the range $106,218.39 to $113,427.08 gross per annum consisting of:

  • $93,722.80 to $100,083.45 base salary,
  • $3,280.30 to $3,502.92 Civil Liability Allowance
  • $9,215.29 to $9,840.71 superannuation (at 9.5%)
  • Leaseback vehicle available
