Located 16 km's north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and is set in one of New South Wales' most attractive natural environments.


Council is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced person for the role of Facilities Support Officer.


Reporting to the Team Leader – Facilities Support, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Carrying out of minor maintenance work
  • Monitoring and rectifying cleanliness of Council Chambers building throughout the day
  • Reporting of maintenance issues and cleaning complaints to the Team Leader on day of receipt
  • Set up Council Chambers for Council meetings according to requirements
  • Reporting to the Team Leader any issues relating to security
  • Ensuring operation and maintenance of plant and equipment is undertaken in accordance with manufacturers specifications and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Working with maintenance contractors, building services and sustainability staff to ensure Council's buildings operate in an energy efficient manner

Required Qualifications/Certificates:

  • Hospitality, Trade or equivalent qualification
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
  • White Card desirable
  • First Aid Certificate desirable

Required experience/skills:Previous general office cleaning, maintenance and general Facility Management experience essential

  • Previous general office cleaning, maintenance and general Facility Management experience essential
  • Manual handling
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective conflict resolution skills


This is a great opportunity for a hands-on person to maintain Council's venues, ensuring they meet presentation, maintenance and security standards.
