About the Opportunity
Marlborough District Council is seeking a full-time Engineering Officer to join their team. This position will work out of the Blenheim office, with frequent travel into Picton.
Reporting to the Operations and Maintenance Engineer, this role will see you primarily responsible for managing the day to day operation of Council’s Picton water and wastewater networks, and stormwater drainage.
More specifically, key duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Ensuring the water supply, wastewater and drainage systems are functioning to standards required by Council’s Asset Management Plan and the community;
- Managing service provision contracts for water, sewer and stormwater;
- Utilising Council Asset management software (AMIS) to record maintenance against assets, to record performance indicators, cost and asset condition;
- Managing Council's sewer infiltration program to reduce groundwater and surface water inflow to sewers;
- Supervising contractors;
- Maintaining effective budgeting and financial control measures; and
- Assisting the public and providing information on issues which Council’s systems and/or networks impact upon their property.
