Animal Attendant - Bendigo Animal Relief Centre (BARC)
An opportunity now exists within our Safe and Healthy Environments unit for suitably qualified Animal Attendants to join our team of professionals, where you will play a key role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of all animals in the establishment and in foster care and daily compliance with relevant Acts, Regulations, Codes and Policies as they relate to the BARC and animal welfare.
This is a newly created role and you will be able to assist the facility Veterinarian and Operations Manager with successful adoption program strategies in the day to day operations of the new BARC services for our 7 days a week service.
The successful applicant will assist with daily animal inspection, feeding, watering, exercise, cleaning of animal housing areas, transportation of domestic animals and administration of medication and treatment prescribed by the Veterinarian.
Demonstrated and relevant experience, confidence in handling and caring for domestic animals, including dangerous and restricted breed dogs and feral cats and the ability to be an effective team player with a strong commitment to working in a team environment will be highly regarded. Good verbal and written communication skills when dealing with clients, other employees and members of the public and in the resolution of minor problems.
