Manager Recreation and Leisure Infrastructure

This is a key leadership position responsible for the direction and management of Council’s Recreation and Leisure Services.  

Key responsibilities will include:

• To plan and manage the provision of leisure and recreation services which meet community needs and expectations
• To manage the operations of the Leisure and  Recreation facilities to ensure the delivery of services which meet or better industry benchmarks and quality guidelines and which are delivered in a safe and professional manner.
• To identify and develop appropriate business opportunities and to achieve the target rate of return where required by Council
• To develop and manage relationships with stakeholders

To be successful in the role you will have:

• An appropriate tertiary qualification.
• Experience in the supervision and performance management of staff.
• Proven leadership experience in the management of Recreation and Leisure Services and facilities management contracts.
• Proven experience of effective commercial management, accountability and responsibility in prior management roles.
• Experience in the development of strategic policies, strategies and plans in the area of Recreation Services and Leisure Facilities.
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills, and policy knowledge to support strategic decision making.
• Experience in managing complex stakeholder consultation and facilitation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop relationships and resolve politically sensitive issues.
• Experience in the development and presentation of clear, well-structured reports and information to Council on complex issues.
• Developed understanding of local government and its imperatives

This is a Senior Officer position with an attractive remuneration package commensurate with skills and experience
