The City of Sydney, has an exciting opportunity available for a HR Advisor professional to join our team to provide generalist advice and case management for a diverse and dynamic workforce.

The role of the HR Advisor is to provide advice on HR practices, policies, procedures, and practical people management and employment related issues.

We are looking for someone who uses every opportunity to coach and continuously improve employee capability and the way we do things.

Whilst this role involves providing generalist advice, a key component is employee relations case management.

Key accountabilities include:

• Resolving employee relations cases in a timely manner ensuring procedural fairness and consistency with City policies and procedures and legislation.
• Coordinate and analyse employee relations reporting and trends and recommend strategic and tactical solutions for compliance, problem solving and building capability.
• Partner with other HR teams and specialists to achieve positive outcomes for both the organisation and employees.
• Build relationships with, support and coach managers in having performance and conduct related discussions with employees to mitigate risk and drive performance and a values based culture.
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure employees and relevant stakeholders are aware of and understand what is expected of them.
• Develops and conducts training for managers to ensure understanding and application of employee relations practices and policies.

Tertiary qualified, you have experience providing generalist advice and managing employee relations case management. You are someone who thrives on building relationships with diverse stakeholders. Experience working in highly consultative and industrialised environment is preferred.
