ABOUT MORELAND

Moreland City Council is located in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne and covers more than 50 square kilometres and is one of Melbourne’s most populous and culturally diverse municipalities. ABOUT THE ROLE

In this unique leadership role, you will drive Council’s strategic property re-development and place making agenda, delivering award winning activation and urban renewal outcomes across the municipality.


You will lead, inspire and empower a team of professional senior strategic property officers and place-makers. You will develop and enhance strong cross-departmental relationships, strategic alignment efficiencies and champion urban renewal centred outcomes.


Success in this role will require you to have senior leadership experience, a strong future focus and a sense of tenacity that puts Moreland, its strategic property redevelopment and place making pursuits at the forefront excellence.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE

  • Extensive experience and appropriate tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in a field relevant to place management, economic development and or property related fields.
  • Significant experience in Local Government, State Government (or its agencies) or the development industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management in a property development.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Federal, State and Local planning and economic development legislation, policies, strategies and programs as they relate to place management.
  • An understanding of small business, operational and political nous.
  • Sound networking skills and ability to gain cooperation from and motivate a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop employees.
