Develop and execute training plans, training materials, classes, and provide software instruction and support to Council’s users of technology.


Tasks include but not limited to: 

  • Provide IT user support and training (face-to-face, online and Class Sessions)

  • Effectively respond to requests from users and the Information technology team for the provision of user support and training in a timely manner.

  • Identify IT training needs

  • Review results and trainee feedback to improve materials and classes

  • Design, coordinate and deliver internal training and associated supporting documentation as required e.g. training manuals, reference guides, procedures

  • Ensure the accurate and timely implementation and maintenance of training records in consultation with Corporate Development

  • Coordinate employee IT inductions, including review and development to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the program

  • Ensure consistent implementation of IT training

  • Monitor, evaluate and report on IT learning and development activity

  • Rollout training for new software

  • In partnership with the Corporate development team, development, review and monitoring of an IT Training schedule

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and continuous improvement methodology across all aspects of this role

  • Assessing individual/group training needs

  • Organising and promoting courses

Essential Criteria 

  • Appropriate qualifications or experience in Information Technology or related fields

  • Certificate IV Training & Assessment or similar

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Previous experience in customer liaison

  • Able to provide training in IT applications - both face-to-face, online and group sessions

  • Knowledge and experience in using the full Microsoft Office suite of products.

  • Effective complaints handling skills and experience

  • Previous experience conducting IT related training

  • Developing high quality documentation

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Analytical and technical skills

  • The ability to motivate others
