Road Safety Projects Officer

We currently have an opportunity available to be involved in developing and maintaining Council’s Community Road Safety initiatives.


You will be responsible for identifying local road safety problems and population groups that are particularly at risk, or who cannot be reached readily through the mass media. The initiatives will therefore be designed to encourage and facilitate an increased sense and awareness of road safety through behavioural and educational programs. 


To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in any of the following:  Behavioural sciences, education, health promotion, marketing, communications, sciences, or other related disciplines or extensive related experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to speak to groups; the ability to deal with a broad range of agencies, professionals and the community; and good negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in researching and analysing basic data (of non technical/specialist nature) and preparing reports relating to the results of the research.
  • Ability to make sound judgements, basing decisions on logically analysed data and information gathered through research.
  • Experience in word processing and the use of spreadsheets (Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Current NSW Driver’s License (Class C or higher)
