Salary and Conditions

  • Salary Range $73,246 - $82,440 Per Annum

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join our Facilities and Recreation team. This position is responsible for the delivery of civil, building, open space and environmental projects and programs across the Shire. This includes managing the investigation, scoping, design, procurement and implementation process of these projects.  


Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and / or four years relevant work experience in a related field (building, civil engineering etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the investigation, scoping, design and implementation process of various Projects, such as Building/Community Facilities or Recreation Facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of plans and specifications for new or upgraded buildings and facilities.
  • Experience in the delivery of Infrastructure Projects using internal and contracted resources
  • Ability to coordinate multiple Infrastructure Projects within specific timeframes.
  • Experience in the effective management of consultants and contractors.
  • Extensive customer contact and negotiation skills.
  • Class C Drivers Licence.

Desirable

  • Experience in the delivery of projects in another field: e.g. Transport (road, bridges, footpaths and/or cycle ways) or Stormwater/Floodplain management or geotechnical stabilisation.
  • Experience in the development of Infrastructure based service strategies e.g. sportsground or recreation reserve master plans.
  • Knowledge of Local Government systems and policies including procurement.
  • Demonstrated experience in seeking and sourcing funding and resources to assist in the provision and implementation of facilities and infrastructure in Council’s buildings and facilities.
