- Salary Range $64,546 - $72,648 Per Annum

About the role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join Council’s Finance section. This position is required to work across various areas within the Management Accounting team, including but not limited to; Council’s Operational Plan & Delivery Program, Quarterly Budget Review Process and Annual Fees & Charges. This position is also required to maintain and ensure compliance with Office of Local Government’s Integrated Planning and Reporting requirements.
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Experience working in an accounting environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply accounting principles.
- An understanding of legislation and its implications to Council with a focus on issues such as Local Government Act, Code of Accounting Practice, and other relevant legislation.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of budgeting and forward planning processes.
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to use Corporate Information Systems and other computer applications to meet business needs.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain complex spreadsheets and databases.
- The ability and commitment to Council’s Vision to build a resilient, safe and supported workplace that provides respectful, efficient and effective services for our community now and into the future.

Desirable
- Experience in Local Government accounting.
