Coordinator Community Planning



With local infrastructure projects such as the Western Sydney Airport in the pipeline, large scale development, a City Centre undergoing significant transformation and a growing population set to reach 330,000 over the next 20 years there are unprecedented need for growth in infrastructure and services. Planning for this large and diverse population will be a major focus and challenge for Council’s Community Planning Team.


We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate candidate with extensive experience in social and community planning to coordinate Council’s community, recreation, open space, cultural and social infrastructure planning and policy activities and to lead and inspire staff during this changing and exiting period.


The successful applicant will undertake a range of duties, including:

  • Coordinating the delivery of social, recreational, cultural and facilities planning and policy for Liverpool City Council;
  • Oversee the implementation of social infrastructure strategic projects;
  • Providing a comprehensive and detailed demographic analysis of the Liverpool local government area;
  • Building credible working relationships with internal and external parties based on communication, teamwork and customer service; and
  • Supervising the staff of the Community Planning sub-team and oversee the budget and business planning processes.


Salary will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience and competencies of the successful applicant. This position also comes with a Council Leaseback Vehicle.
