You will play a valued role in helping the Business Unit achieve its key objectives (maintaining the local infrastructure to improve life-span and usability, maintaining the natural environment, while meeting agreed service standards, and the diverse needs of the community).
You will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of Council’s horticultural assets either on a fixed garden site, a mobile maintenance team, or single operator of a tractor.
As Plant Operator, you will ensure that horticultural works are completed in an effective, efficient and safe manner.
Working amongst our community - You will showcase our values and be a positive brand ambassador for the Sutherland Shire Council.
Things you'll do
You will be required to operate a range of horticultural plant and equipment. For example, tractor & slasher, 3 tonne truck, commercial wood-chipper, chainsaw, ride-on mower etc.
You will uphold all essential licences at all times.
You will draw upon your relevant work experience to plan and execute horticultural work tasks, including chemical application.
You will have extensive understanding of WHS / application of safe working methods – and uphold best practice within your team.
You will be self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
