Youth Development Officer



Moira Shire Council has a strong commitment to engaging with its community, including young people aged 12 – 25 years, and working closely on the delivery of initiatives that make Moira a great place to live, work and invest.  Moira Shire Council is committed to enhancing the quality of life of young people living, working and studying in Moira Shire and the Youth team form a key part of this work.


The focus of this role will be to understand the changing dynamics of youth issues within Moira Shire, and ways Council can support and assist with the development of young people within Moira, through both programs and events.


Moira Shire Council supports the Victorian State Government’s vision that young people “experience healthy, active and fulfilling lives and have the opportunity to achieve to their full potential”.


The successful applicant will need to be able to work with large youth groups, network with multiple external agencies, apply strategic thinking to current and emerging youth issues, and engage in the planning and organisation of youth events.


This role forms part of the broader Community Development team at Moira Shire and is a part time (4 days), maternity leave position.
