The City of Whitehorse is characterised by tree-lined residential streets, growing activity centres such as Box Hill, network of parks and bushland reserves, regional tertiary education facilities, commercial precincts and excellent public transport. Located 15 kilometres from Melbourne in the heart of the east and with a diverse range of high quality services and facilities, Whitehorse is an attractive City to live and work in.


Whitehorse is seeking an experienced and talented Strategic Planner to:

  • deliver exceptional strategic planning services 
  • implement key local and State government policy
  • manage projects that create and/or implement Council’s strategies across the municipality such as plans for activity centres, key sites and specific issues
  • respond to the City’s strategic planning needs including amendments to the Whitehorse Planning Scheme.


To be successful you will have tertiary qualifications in town planning or a related discipline and experience in strategic planning, preferably in Victoria. You will be experienced in community consultation, have strong project management skills to handle a variety of complex tasks and deliver high quality results. A high level of professionalism and demonstrated commitment to customer service and to organisational and team values and behaviours are essential.
