About the Role

This newly created role will see you lead the design and creation of useful, usable and engaging user experiences for digital channels, in line with best practice user experience standards.  You will also create wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes and work with the Digital and Technology Services team and wider organisation to deliver outstanding solutions. 


About You

You are an experienced designer with a strong track record in developing user-centred design, visual design, front end development, interaction design and information architecture.


You will also demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • A UX/UI design leader with demonstrated capability in conceptualising innovative design solutions based on Council’s goals and user needs.
  • Demonstrated strong skills and knowledge in interactive application, structured design techniques, implementation of UX/UI methodologies, preferably in an Agile environment.
  • Demonstrated strong skills and knowledge in building wireframes, user flows/journeys and functional specifications from various insights.
  • Demonstrated strong technical skills in relevant tools such as Sketch, Adobe Experience Design, Azure RP.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field along with several years of experience in a similar role;
  • Certifications or diplomas in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, HCI, Product Design, Interaction Design, Information Design, or related field are viewed favourably.
