Venue Technician
- Temporary Part-Time, until June 2020
- 19 hours per week
- Classified as Band 3
- $30.22 - $33.36 per hour plus 9.5% superannuation

The Leisure department has responsibility for planning for services, places and spaces that encourage participation within the areas of; Performing Arts and Culture, Visual Arts and Culture, Festivals and Events, Libraries and Learning, and Leisure Facilities.
The Opportunity
This position will see you delivering technical services in the Clocktower Centre’s 500 seat proscenium arch theatre. You will be assisting in the supervision of Casual Technical staff, in addition to providing a high level of customer service to patrons, hirers, and users of all Cultural Facilities venues.
Your roles and responsibilities will include the following:
- Setting in place and operating technical equipment including lighting audio, mechanical and audio visual
- Contributing to a position and professional culture within the Technical and wider Operations team of the Arts & Culture department
- Ensuring the smooth-running of events at the Clocktower Centre
- Assisting in identifying the technical requirements of users of the facilities
- Interpreting daily room requirements and carry out function / meeting room set ups
- Providing guidance, advice and training to the pool of casual staff regarding theatre operations
About You
To be suitable for this position, you will ideally possess the following:
- Hands on experience within a performing arts based environment
- Exposure to setting up and operating computerised lighting and audio equipment
- Customer Service experience, preferably within the performing arts sector
- Availability to work rostered shifts that can occur Monday to Sunday, early morning, daytime and evening
