The Leisure department has responsibility for planning for services, places and spaces that encourage participation within the areas of; Performing Arts and Culture, Visual Arts and Culture, Festivals and Events, Libraries and Learning, and Leisure Facilities.


The Opportunity

This position will see you delivering frontline customer service in the delivery of technical support, as part of the Technical team at the Clocktower Centre and council facilitated events.


Reporting directly to the Technical Services Supervisor and assisting with the supervision of Casual Technical staff, your roles and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Contributing to the smooth-running of events at the Clocktower centre
  • Maintaining a positive and professional culture within the Technical and wider Operations team of the Arts & Culture unit
  • Setting up and operating technical equipment including audio, lighting, mechanical and audio visual
  • Interpreting daily room requirements and carry out function / meeting room set ups
  • Assisting in identifying the technical requirements of the users of facilities
  • Providing guidance, advice and training to the pool of casual staff regarding theatre operations


About You

To be successful for this position, you will ideally possess the following:

  • Experience in setting up and operating of audio equipment
  • Experience in maintaining theatrical audio systems
  • Exposure to setting up and operating lighting equipment
  • Hands on experience within a performing arts based environment
  • Availability to work rostered shifts that can occur Monday to Sunday, early morning, daytime and evening
