PRINCIPAL DEVELOPMENT PLANNER


  • Temporary Up to 12 months
  • Full Time - 35 hours per week
  • Total Remuneration Package $106,020.00 - 131,031.00
  • Located at the Administration Building in Raymond Terrace

If you understand how planning law decisions and development occurs and want to play your part in shaping the future of Port Stephens then this is an exciting opportunity offering to expand your professional planning career. You will be responsible for the carrying out of a large number of town planning activities within Council's Development Services Group, with the role primarily responsible for provision of preliminary legal advice, assessing complex development applications and undertaking other related planning tasks within the Development Assessment & Compliance Section.


What you need:

  • Degree qualifications in planning, or relevant field coupled with 7 - 10 years minimum experience in planning and development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of planning and development legislation including the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 (NSW) and the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW)
  • Show drive and motivation, an awareness of strengths and weaknesses, and a commitment to learning
  • A commit to delivering customer and community focused services in line with strategic objectives
  • Be able to think, analyse and consider the broader context to develop practical solutions 


Total Remuneration Package Range: $106,020.00 - 131,031.00 (includes 9.5% superannuation + motor vehicle & retention allowance) + flexi-time
