The City is seeking a dynamic professional who has significant experience in planning and delivery of community and cultural services to fill this exciting position.
Key accountabilities:
Lead, coordinate and manage the Community and Cultural Development Team, including the Mullewa District Office, to ensure staff deliver high quality community and cultural services, events and programs across the City of Greater Geraldton.
Ensure that Community and Cultural Development projects and events are developed, implemented and reviewed in accordance with community aspiration and priority.
Progress the development, implementation, evaluation, reporting and review of community and cultural development plans and strategies, including but not limited to the City of Greater Geraldton’s Disability Access and Inclusion Plan, Creative Community Plan, Event Strategy and Reconciliation Action Plan, to ensure they are meeting community aspirations and priority and are consistent with organisational direction.
Develop, enhance and nurture relationships with local, regional, state and national organisations and agencies and work collaboratively with those agencies to ensure good outcomes for community and cultural development of the Greater Geraldton area.

Position requirements:
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of social and cultural policy and be experienced in working cooperatively with various stakeholders relating to the portfolio. Demonstrated experience and skill in leading a high performing multidisciplinary team is required as is project and program management.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
This role is offered as a five (5) year fixed term negotiated contract. A salary package of up to $157,934.50 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
