About us

The opportunity    

Council are seeking to recruit a hardworking and friendly Customer Service Officer with outstanding communication skills to provide efficient and courteous service to internal and external customers in a busy work environment by meeting customer needs and exceeding customer expectations.  


To be successful in this position, you should hold a Certificate III in Business Administration or other relevant field; possess the commitment to provide quality customer service; high level Microsoft Office skills with the ability to learn new key applications; experience in cash receipting and cash handling; and a high attention to detail.


Previous experience in a busy call centre or customer service centre would be an advantage.

Key accountabilities

The tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Protecting and enhancing the positive image of Council and providing high levels of service to all customers
  • Providing a friendly, courteous and responsive central point of contact for customer enquiries, transactions and requests
  • Providing accurate information to customers on current issues, practices and procedures relevant to all Council's services
  • Following up and resolve outstanding issues, including those referred to specialist staff
