Are you an experienced workplace health & professional seeking a new challenge?


An opportunity exists for a dynamic and action focused individual to lead the Health & Safety team. This position will report directly to the Manager Human Resources and will oversee the implementation, compliance and management of the Town’s WHS Strategy and WHS Management System while actively promoting a safe workplace culture. This position will also be responsible for providing WHS direction, advice and support across the organisation and its multiple workplace sites, provide safety leadership, supervise a WHS Advisor and oversee inspections, audits, workers compensation claims and injury management.


The preferred candidate will play an active role promoting safety awareness and fostering a culture of proactive injury and hazard prevention for all employees, contractors and the public through compliance with the relevant Workplace Health and Safety Acts and Regulations.


Our ideal candidate is an effective communicator who can liaise with all levels of the business as well as external organisation. Be a self-motivated, diligent individual who prides themselves on their strong attention to detail. The preferred candidate will have previous experience in a similar high level WHS role with proven coaching and mentoring skills as well as qualifications in Work, Health & Safety.


The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in Work, Health & Safety and demonstrated experience in a high level WHS role
  • Current ‘C’ class drivers licence
  • National Police Clearance
  • Workplace First Aid certificate
