About the role:
 

An exciting opportunity exists for an Officer – Occupational Safety & Health to participate in the provision of OSH support to the Region to continually improve the health and safety culture and outcomes, whilst ensuring legislative and corporate requirements are met.

 
What the role will offer:
  • Assist in OSH risk profiling including assisting with hazard management and trend monitoring, and maintaining safety records
  • Assist in the preparation of reports to ensure compliance with Corporate, Group, region and legislative requirements.
  • Assist in coaching supervisors and other personnel on their OSH responsibilities and accountabilities relating to their roles, and support them to fulfil those accountabilities
  • Liaise with Line Managers and employees to ensure the accurate capture of OSH information for reporting and identify trends.
  • Assist in providing advice and support to line managers on incident investigation and reporting, and other OSH related matters
  • Assist in the conduct of OSH audits and prepare reports to ensure compliance with Corporate, Divisional, Regional and Legislative requirements.
Key skills and experience:
  • Tertiary level qualification in an Occupational Safety and Health or business related discipline and relevant work experience in a large multi-disciplinary organisation
  • Demonstrated capability to coordinate and provide advice and support for training, learning and development calendars and events.
  • Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service focus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of OSH principles and practices
  • Ability to operate the Microsoft Office suite of products, and learn new IT systems
