Training Coordinator Early Childhood Education and Care



It is an exciting time to be part of Living & Learning Nillumbik (L&LN). Having recently completed a full review of the service, Council is investing in L&LN’s future, strengthening its contribution to social and economic outcomes for the community, while transitioning to a self-sustaining business model. To guide this journey, a new strategic plan is under development. The Training Coordinator Early Childhood Education and Care plays a key role in the planning, delivery and accountabilities of Vocational Education and Training program in the Certificate III and Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, produce and coordinate the implementation of the Early Childhood Education and Care Training and Assessment Strategies and delivery plans for the Early Childhood programs
  • Identify curriculum development, materials and resource needs in the relevant programs, in consultation with trainers and students.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality standards, policies, procedures and regulations
  • Oversee the delivery, assessment, validation/moderation and evaluation of programs.
  • Interview prospective students applying for entry into the relevant programs, and provide course, career and learning pathways resource, information and advice to them.
  • Manages the ongoing monitoring and support of all students, including tracking of student progress.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or other relevant qualification and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – TAE40116 (or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110, plus TAELLN411 and TAEASS502 or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery and assessment the Early Childhood Education qualifications
  • Broad knowledge of contemporary early childhood theory, research, pedagogy and practice and a broad understanding of the National Quality Framework
  • Demonstrated experience working in the Early Childhood Education sector with experience in high level leadership and management position.


This is a temporary (2 year) part-time Band 6 position with the possibility of extension dependent upon funding.
