SENIOR FINANCE OFFICER
The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Officer to join our team based in Derby; the gateway to the gorges.
Location: Our Shire is in the North of Western Australia with a population of approximately 9,500 people, while the town of Derby's population is 4,500. Our location provides for a variety of leisure activities including superb fishing, boating, sightseeing, community events and sports. On our doorstep are some truly stunning and untouched wilderness areas like the famed Buccaneer Archipelago, National Parks and Gorges, and the mighty Fitzroy River. Broome is also within easy reach. Our Kimberley lifestyle is relaxed and open.
The Position: You will be assisting the Manager Finance in ensuring that the broad range of the Shire's financial and asset management functions are carried out in accordance with legislative and statutory obligations in timely and effective manner.
Skills: You will have relevant financial management skills; preferably from a local government environment. Skills in accounting software and systems including Microsoft applications; in particular Excel. You will provide guidance, mentoring and support to the finance team. You will need to produce high quality and accurate results often within tight time frames. Your written and verbal communication including liaison skills will be well-developed. Essential is a valid C Class Driver's License and current National Police Clearance.

SALARY PACKAGE: RANGE $102,580 TO $115,055pa
Includes cash range $81,853 to $92,702pa salary and allowances (if applicable) plus superannuation and housing allowance.
