About the position
Barkly Regional Council is seeking a suitably qualified and highly motivated individual to take on the role of Community Care Finance and Admin Officer. The primary purpose of this position is to manage Barkly Regional Council’s support services to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants living in remote communities across the Region. The position is responsible for the administration and the financial reporting requirements of the NDIS program.
To be successful in this role you will have exceptional attention to detail be highly motivated and be able to work autonomously, this role will also require you to have financial and operational management experience and expertise. The ability to understand financial information relevant for an organisation; what it means, how community services (specifically Aged & Disability Services) are performing and what the implications for growth and/or risk are likely to be are also necessary to effectively fulfil this role.
About Tennant Creek and the Barkly Region
The Barkly region is located in northern Central Australia and covers an area approximately 1.5 times the size of Victoria. We have seven major communities in the area and each has its own individual personality. The area has a rich Aboriginal cultural heritage.Historically, agriculture and mining have been key industries in the area and tourism now plays an important role. The position is located in Tennant Creek which is a well resourced regional centre with banks, shops, hospital, pharmacy, schools and a variety of sporting and other clubs.
