Senior Ranger



Wagga Wagga City Council are looking for a motivated and experienced professional for the position of Senior Ranger. This position reports directly to the City Compliance Coordinator and is responsible for leading the Ranger Services Team, comprising of five team members in the delivery of high quality customer service, compliance and animal services to protect, maintain and enhance the City of Wagga Wagga.


Remuneration package of $2,686.78 gpf + superannuation.


Your new role:

You will supervise and lead the Ranger Services Team to ensure delivery service outcomes for the community are met by; regulatory monitoring and compliance including parking, street activities, littering, impounding, bushfire hazard and issue penalty notices and notices for breaches; companion animal compliance and education.


The role has a number of compliance and regulatory responsibilities under various Acts, Regulations, Codes and Standards which are to be maintained and monitored to ensure effective legislative compliance systems, practices and procedures are adhered to for best practice.


Your technical expertise in regulatory services will be highly regarded in providing advice regarding legal action, briefing legal representatives for court appearances and preparing evidence and affidavits for legal forums.  You will drive the implementation and maintenance of Council’s monitoring program for the detection of legislative breaches and hazards including surveillance and inspection activities.

  • Ability to support staff in a team environment and build collegiality, promote and maintain a positive team culture and coordinate rostering schedules and daily work activities;
  • Well-developed communication and negotiation skills;
  • Strong pre-active approach with an emphasis on developing relationships across all stakeholder domains; and
  • A high level of professional commitment to customer service.
