About the role

As part of the Community Support and Safety Services team, you will be expected to:

• Research, design, coordinate and evaluate innovative community safety and wellbeing projects in line with relevant strategies and plans.
• Identify and foster appropriate partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders the lead to sustainable relationships to enhance community safety and wellbeing.
• Guide, support and assist community groups, organisations and individuals to build their capacity and resilience through the provision of training, resources, programs and services relating to community safety, crime prevention, community connection and wellbeing.

About you, in the role

You are an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who understands the ethos of community capacity building in relation to the development and implementation of targeted community programs. You possess strong written and verbal communication skills which enables you to develop partnerships and communicate with people across a diverse range of needs and backgrounds. 

You understand the principles of community safety and wellbeing practice within a local government community development setting. You have the ability to conduct evidence based research to develop relevant programs to address community needs. You enjoy working as part of team, display initiative and are organised and time conscious with your work. 

To be considered for this role, you require experience in the community development sector,  experience working in/with Local Government and a qualification in Community Development, Social Science or related field. You must possess a current C Class drivers licence and be willing to apply for a Working with Children Check.
