About the Opportunity
We are looking for an Aboriginal professional with experience in advocacy, community development, community engagement and social capacity building to join our Community Development team to assist us in connecting and supporting our Aboriginal Community within Blacktown City, which is one of the largest urban Aboriginal populations in New South Wales.
You will need to have an awareness of the needs and aspirations of Blacktown's Aboriginal Community, and will be regularly interacting and liaising with the community during events and festivals, and through correspondence.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Qualification in Community Development, Welfare, Education or similar discipline
- At least three years working in Community Development
- Aboriginality
- Current driver's licence.
Remuneration and Benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- A competitive salary range of $1,335.00 - $1,495.10 (Grade 11) per week will be offered based on qualifications and experience
- 35 hour working week
