Wagga Wagga City Council’s Parks & Gardens Strategic Operations Team are seeking two enthusiastic and motivated individuals who have a passion for the care and maintenance of gardens and landscapes, enjoy working outdoors and are looking for an active and hands on role.
Remuneration of $1,805.22 gross per fortnight + superannuation.
Your new role:
As the Gardener, you will be responsible for working collaboratively within the Parks & Strategic Operations Team to deliver high-level presentation for the City’s parks, gardens, reserves, sportsgrounds, streetscapes and roadsides.
Duties of the position include but are not limited:
Undertaking gardening duties such as establishment and maintenance of gardens and lawns, watering and maintenance of parks, planting and pruning of shrubs and trees, lawn mowing and renovations and disease and pest control;
Operate and maintain items of plant, equipment and tools; and
Respond to customer service requests as required.
What you will need to succeed:
We are looking for someone with:
Qualifications relevant to the role – a Certificate III in Horticulture is desirable;
A current MR drivers’ licence is desirable;
Someone who is motivated and willing to learn new skills and has strong customer service skills to respond to customer service requests; and
A genuine interest in the presentation of park facilities and a focus on Work Health and Safety are essential to the role.
