The role:
The Communications and Media Cadetship is a structured training and development program that includes undertaking part time study in a relevant tertiary course and practical work experience in the work areas of communications, media, community engagement and marketing. The Cadet will commence employment with Council as a third year student.
The Communications and Media Cadet will develop practical skills and knowledge in communications and media within Local Government and will work to improve communication and engagement and positively contribute to the four principles that together form the focus of Council, namely the 4C’s: Community, Councillors, Customer and Council.

Temporary full time position for up to 4 years (depending on stage of course completion).

Commencing salary starting from $46,285.20 per annum (depending on stage of course completion), plus 9.5% superannuation.

Payment of course fees upon successful completion of subjects.

Additional Allowance of $230 per subject for essential student expenses such as administration fees, course materials including textbooks and prescribed readings.

Study and Examination Leave for face-to-face and online courses.

Structured Cadetship Program including a Training and Rotational Placement Plan, Mentor and Peer Program.
