As a Retrieval Registrar, you will provide the people of South Australia with the highest level of emergency medical patient care, treatment and transport. You will work with an experienced Retrieval Paramedic or Nurse colleague to deliver high quality, patient focused care to critically injured adults and children. Responding by helicopter, rapid response road vehicle or turbo prop fixed wing aircraft, you will bring your experience in a critical care medical discipline to patients in both the pre-hospital and inter-facility transport and retrieval environments. You will also participate in patient retrieval and repatriation utilising jet fixed wing and commercial airlines. You will be supported and mentored prior to independent retrieval operations and via ongoing teaching, training, audit and quality assurance activities. This role presents a great opportunity to gain experience operating as a member of a highly functioning professional clinical team. With continuous education, training and audit exposure, you will also have access to a team of highly experienced emergency medicine Physicians/Consultants, Paramedics and Nurses. Holding a Bachelor of Medicine: Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, you will be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as Medical Practitioner. You will also be enrolled in an advanced critical care training program - Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesia, Pre-hospital Care, Intensive Care or equivalent. Demonstrating experience in the initial management of acutely ill and injured adults and/or children, you will bring the ability to contribute to flexible teams assembled in the pre and inter-hospital setting to address urgent and emergency health responses. Excellent communication skills with a focus on problem solving and conflict resolution will be essential.
