As part of the Procurement Governance team within the Building and Asset Services (BAS) commercialised business unit, your key responsibilities are to provide high quality procurement support services and support the effective delivery of integrated client focused and commercially viable contracts and procurement services across Queensland, BAS.

This includes assisting with the development and implementation of strategic building and construction maintenance category plans (also other key categories as required) in line with the procurement lifecycle, through collaboratively working with key BAS stakeholders and industry, to ensure the achievement of Government and BAS procurement objectives.

Reporting to the Manager Strategic Sourcing, Procurement Governance, you will:

• Assist with the development and implementation of strategic category management plans reflecting leading procurement practice for nominated categories.

• Participate in the development and implementation of a benefits realisation plan for nominated categories and report regularly on progress and outcomes.

• Maintain knowledge of legislation and compliance requirements to enable effective participation and advice to the implementation of the QLD Government and BAS procurement objectives.

• Contribute to the development and implementation of industry engagement plan/s for components of nominated categories to improve category management outcomes and promote innovation.

• Provide support and advice to cross functional category team projects (i.e. BAS regions); support operational procurement with analysis of market performance, commodity supply and demand, spend analyses and supplier performance associated with the tendering and management of major contracts.

• Provide input and support to the ongoing monitoring, analyses and reporting on performance against the Category Management Strategy and associated procurement performance reports.

• Maintain category and contract management data in QLD Government and BAS systems and tools to ensure integrity of information and databases.

• Participate in the collaboration with nominated Government and industry stakeholders to maximise category planning effectiveness and agency/industry commitment.

• Maintain high performance levels to assist in ensuring business objectives and timelines are achieved.

• Working with internal BAS stakeholders and industry to determine best sourcing strategy and execute accordingly. This includes, development of contract documentation, liaising with key stakeholders, calling of tenders, tender evaluation, commercial negotiations, awarding of contracts and contract management activities.

• Undertake procurement audit activities as directed.

• Proactively assist the regions to resolve operational procurement, commercial and contractual matters.

• Assist in the development and maintenance of various procurement information systems and applications.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the Queensland Procurement Policy, related legislation and policies, BAS delegations, policies and procedures relating to procurement in government.

• Contribute as part of a team to the delivery of more efficient and competitive products and services to clients.
