Are you currently working in business administration and seeking a new challenge? An opportunity has become available for a fast paced and hardworking individual ready to work in Local Government. This position reports directly through to the Director of Development, Sustainability & Lifestyle and is responsible for providing efficient and confidential administrative support to the Director and Directorates employees.

The position will be based in Port Hedland, a town of rich heritage, spectacular landscapes, friendliness, a diverse and embracing community and relaxed lifestyle. As the largest bulk export port in the world, the town is home to global resource leaders and is significant to the national interest.

We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual to who can liaise with all levels of the business as well as external organisations. You will be providing administrative support across the different business units within the Development, Sustainability & Lifestyle Directorate. The Directorate is comprised of Town Planning, Community Facilities, Environmental Health, and Marketing, Communications and Events, and Engagements team. If you are well organised, have high level of interpersonal and customer service skills, highly development verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to work under pressure we want to hear from you.

The preferred candidate will have previous experience in a similar administrative role and will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Previous Experience working in an administrative role
  • Current ‘C’ class manual drivers licence
  • National Police Clearance
