Primary Objective: Provide a prompt and efficient delivery of Payroll Services in a Shared Services environment to a large portfolio of clients across a variety of awards and legislation.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1.     In accordance with Payroll Standard Operating Procedures:

a.      Process and calculate salary and allowance payments and other employee entitlements to a specified client group,   inputting data into a computerised payroll system.

b.      Provide accurate, timely information to clients including more complex / difficult payroll matters.

c.      Provide professional resolution to client queries.

2.     Maintain the integrity of personnel records ensuring accuracy of all data recorded.

3.     Contribute to the operations and working dynamics of a team of Payroll staff ensuring the provision of a high quality payroll service to clients.

4.     Contribute to developing a work environment of quality, customer focussed service delivery.

5.     Prepare correspondence relating to entitlements for individual clients ensuring clients are kept informed of correct entitlements.

6.     Ability to meet self-certification standards

 

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

1.     Sound knowledge and experience with the interpretation and application of employment legislation pertaining to Payroll, preferably in the   Public Sector or similar environment.

2.     Ability to perform accurate and timely payroll calculations and processing of employee entitlements.

3.     Ability to use human resource information systems, and related software packages such as Microsoft 

Office.

4.     Sound written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively and develop professional relationships with clients from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.

5.     Organisational skills and the ability to work successfully under pressure in a fast paced environment in order to meet a range of deadlines within the payroll processing cycle.

6.     Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and assist in the implementation of workplace change.

7.     Proven experience in dealing with sensitive matters where confidentiality, empathy and integrity are critical.

8.     Ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures.

9.     Demonstrated regular attendance in the workplace.

10.  Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCIS values of being professional, accountable, honest and innovative.

1. Personal drive, potential and capacity to develop into senior roles.
