Graduate Building Surveyor

About the position

The role will provide services as a Building Surveyor in Council’s Planning, Environment and Regulatory Services Department, while receiving on the job training and experience, and paid study if required, to advance through the Accredited Certifier categories of A4, A3, A2 and finally A1. The Graduate Building Surveyor will be responsible for advice, assessment and implementation of consents issued for applications received by Council under the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act and related legislation, and the carrying out of critical stage inspections in regard to new building activity.

About you

This is a permanent role with a starting salary of $49,859.00 (Base) - subject to negotiation, based on experience, current status and demonstrated competencies, plus 9.5% superannuation.

To be successful in this role you must possess:

  1. Currently enrolled in, or recently completed a qualification that would satisfy the Building Professional Boards requirements for accreditation as an A1 Accredited Certifier.
  2. Excellent organisational and planning skills, including the capacity to work to deadlines and set priorities
  3. Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in various computer software (e.g. word processing packages, database, spreadsheet and email applications).
  4. Current class C or Provisional driver’s license
  5. General Induction Construction Card (White Card)
