An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Development Assessment Planner within the Planning, Development and Regulatory Services Branch.


About the role

Based at Council’s Civic Centre Moss Vale and reporting to the Coordinator Development, the primary purpose of this position is to assess and determine development applications and provide high level technical advice to both internal and external clients of Council on planning matters in order to comply with customer service obligations. 

Salary for this position is based on skills, experience and qualifications and will range from $79,088pa to $91,743pa + Super + Leaseback vehicle.


About you

In addition to tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Three years development assessment experience in a local government context.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and technical standards including the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Regulations 2000 with proven comprehensive experience in the assessment of complex development proposals.
  • An ability to build professional relationships within the development industry with a commitment to quality customer service.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to prepare technical reports.
