The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is one of the world's largest, and most highly regarded community based emergency services organisations. We respond to fire and other emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Whilst our firefighters are the cornerstone of CFA services, what goes on behind the scenes is just as important in helping to protect lives and property.

CFA operates a number of specialised emergency management training centres across Victoria that offer a wide variety of courses and training facilities, ranging from basic firefighting to complex incident management and planning, to CFA personnel, sector partners and industrial clients. The Environmental Compliance Program (ECP) is a program of works established within the Infrastructure Services Directorate, responsible for the management and delivery of improvements to address environmental management, particularly water management and management of PFAS impacted soil.

The primary role of the Project Support Officer is to deliver project support services on behalf of the Project Management Office (PMO), to support successful delivery of the ECP and to be part of a team responsible for management of evidence, finance, budget and reporting across the program and projects. The position is required to work independently and proactively to provide effective, efficient and comprehensive administrative support.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing project support services within a large and/or complex organisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong and cooperative relationships with program stakeholders both internal and external
  • Demonstrated experience utilising finance, HR, information management systems. Experience with SAP finance systems is preferred.  
  • Strong computer literacy skills, particularly in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint).
