Regulatory Analyst

The Opportunity

In this brand new role, you will inform the development and implementation of TasWater’s Price and Service Plan (PSP), and deliver high-quality research and analysis to support organisational outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Contribute to the development of the PSP and other regulatory submissions, including capital and operating expenditure, demand forecasts, policies and service standards and pricing.
  • Support processes for delivery and reporting on our commitments under the PSP and the Long Term Strategic Plan (LTSP) to meet regulatory requirements and customer promises.
  • Provide specialist advice regarding economic regulation and pricing.
  • Monitor and analyse external information and intelligence relevant to economic regulation to manage and mitigate risks.
  • Support our Corporate and Community Relations Team in customer and community engagement to deliver well-supported regulatory submissions.

Your Application

Your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the selection criteria in the Position Description, summarised as follows:

  • Qualifications in a relevant discipline (economics, commerce or finance) OR significant experience in a similar role in a utility (water, energy, telecommunications).
  • Proven experience in analysing regulatory, economic and financial information and trends to inform and manage strong business outcomes.
  • Proven experience in communicating with stakeholders to help deliver robust and well-informed regulatory submissions and projects.
  • Sound writing skills to contribute to the development of the regulatory submissions, reports and briefings
  • Strong time management and planning skills.
