Regional Services Group (RSG) provides and interface between the Department's central office and our service providers, ensuring that policy intent and outcomes are delivered on the ground. It supports partnerships across our system, regional early childhood services, schools and other education providers to deliver high quality services and outcomes. In line with the new operating model, RSG has a stronger focus and resourcing level to drive operational performance, accountability, workforce leadership and policy implementation.

The Senior Project Officer role is for a fixed term of 12 months to support the phased delivery of the Strategic Planning Online Tool for Victorian government schools. The tool has been launched in 2017 to support schools with their Annual Implementation Planning. Additional functionality is being added which will enable schools to work through the FISO Improvement Cycle (Evaluated and diagnose, Prioritise and set goals, Develop and plan, and Implement and monitor) throughout the school year.

Working across the SPOT and Improvement Support teams, the Senior Project Officer will be responsible for:

- engaging and negotiating with a range of stakeholders and strengthening relationships and consultations with schools, regions and central office

- leading and managing a collaborative relationship with the Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) project team to support, co-ordinate and document a range of prioritised stakeholder views and requirements for the development of the online planning tool

- understand school improvment practices and translate technical information into school improvement contexts

- co-ordinating and managing regular engagements with schools and stakeholders to test the design of deliverables

- preparing reports, briefings and project board papers for the Project Board and other Executives as required

- leading the analysis and review of data and evidence to generate insights about school improvement activities and communicate these through targeted reporting.

Prior experience in supporting change projects in an educational context and experience in training is highly desirable.
