FINANCIAL OFFICER - REVENUE



This position is responsible for providing support and relief to the finance functions within the Revenue section of the finance team and to undertake special finance projects as required.


SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in carrying out revenue related functions, specifically rating systems, accounts reconciliation and debt recovery procedures in local government.
  • Advanced administration skills with the ability to support a range of team members.
  • Sound working knowledge of current legislation, standards, principles & practices relating to debtors and rating provisions.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills and demonstrated ability to deal with challenging customer queries.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise own work to meet deadlines and achieve work outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply attention to detail and accuracy of work.
  • Advanced computer literacy skills including experience in the use of Microsoft Office programs particularly excel.
  • Current driver’s licence.


Desirable:

  • Qualifications in accounting or business studies area and / or equivalent.
  • Experience in using Local Government Software.
