This position is not a standard clerical position and may not be suited to everyone.  This role is isolated due to the nature of the business unit and will require the successful applicant to be resilient and be able to work independently and / or alone.  As a result, the selected applicant will have a number of conditions imposed that must be adhered to as a condition of acceptance.  

The holder of this position will be required to obtain and maintain a negative vetting level 2 clearance.  Applicants must be aware that this is a significant commitment and involves the voluntary provision of comprehensive personal and family financial details, travel history, social media history, personal associations and criminal records (to name a few).  An assessment of the successful applicant’s mental and emotional well-being will also be undertaken. 

The successful applicant must also have their own vehicular transport and due to the nature of the business unit, will not be permitted to travel using public transport.

Taking into account the above requirements, this role provides an efficient and effective administrative and human resources support role to the unit / section with an emphasis placed on the financial management role. 


It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 2 security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold and maintain the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 2 security clearance. Any applicants who are currently not an Australian Citizen must be aware that this is an essential requirement to fulfil this position (please refer to the attached position description). Whilst there is nothing to preclude applicants from applying for the position if they have not yet been granted Australian Citizenship, applicants who are successful should be aware that they cannot be appointed unless they are in the process of applying for Australian Citizenship and are eligible to receive a waiver.

Applicants are not required to address the work related requirements at this stage of the selection process. 

Applicants are also required to submit a Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills and experience relevant to the Accountabilities/Duties of the attached Position Description Form. 

Whilst applicants are not required to address the Essential Work Related Requirements of this position as a separate document, it is important that applicants are able to satisfy the ‘context’ requirement (listed in the attached position description form) in relation to ‘Financial Management’, ‘Human Resources’ and ‘Analytical and Problem Solving’ within their CV. These particular Essential Work Related Requirements are an integral requirement and will hold considerable weighting when determining whether an applicant is competitive. 

The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. 

Please note: For applicants deemed suitable, all Essential Work Related Requirements listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process. 


Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (both permanent and temporary) throughout this specialised unit. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of the appointment. 

Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for this position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to this position may be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
