Manager Geraldton Airport



About the position:

The Manager Geraldton Airport role is responsible for the planning and functional day-to-day management and operation of the Geraldton Airport, as a regional RPT airport, including plans, budgets and financial management, contracts, personnel administration, correspondence, stakeholder relations, leases, maintenance and construction, safety, airside infrastructure, buildings, grounds, and all matters of Federal statutory and regulatory compliance and enforcement at the Airport.


Key accountabilities:

  • Manage the people, assets, budgets and finances of Geraldton Airport.
  • Manage relationships with airport Users including RPT Airlines, FIFO and other charter carriers, resident fixed base operators, general aviation operators, RFDS, RAAF, FESA and other Federal or State agencies.
  • Manage Airport Operations and Safety as required by Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) regulations.
  • Manage Security Screening Authority obligations for the Airport and provide airport security and screening functions in accordance with Federal statutes, regulations and directives associated with Aviation Transport Security.

Position requirements:

The successful applicant will hold a tertiary qualification in Airport Management or Operations and relevant experience, or lesser qualifications but with substantial relevant Airport management experience.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.


Remuneration and benefits:

This role is offered as a five (5) year fixed term negotiated contract. A benefits package up to $140,000 per annum will be negotiated dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
