• Contribute sound environmental advice in response to planning referrals and Victoria's native vegetation regulations, and public land management 
  • Assist in the implementation of Protecting Victoria's Environment- Biodiversity 2037 
  • Proactively model positive and productive behaviours consistent with the team culture Support the delivery of place based environmental projects, biodiversity programs, water projects, provide input into the development of policy and strategy, and support monitoring and review processes to support an agile, high performing culture.

The Natural Environment Programs Officer will identify emerging issues, risks and trends impacting on the successful achievement of objectives and priorities and develop solutions and options. In doing so they must provide high quality biodiversity and water services to meet business and operational objectives and priorities, including, where relevant, setting clear directions for staff, monitoring and managing performance to support a high performing culture that is able to. They will ensure departmental and group requirements are met in accordance with legislative, policy and procedural requirements. They will have knowledge and experience in threatened species management and environmental assessments and be able to actively contribute sound environmental advice in response to planning referrals and Victoria's native vegetation regulations, and public land management.

Ideally the successful candidate will possess a relevant qualification in environmental science/natural resource management. They will have demonstrable stakeholder management and project management skills and proven experience within a similar role.

This is a fixed term, part time position available for a period of initially 12 months.
