You will lead the financial accounting functions within EDQ, providing analysis and advice in relation to issues impacting on the development and management of statutory and management reporting and budgets. You will also develop, implement and maintain financial systems and practices that facilitate and contribute to improved financial management within EDQ, and analyse and advise on Group and business unit financial and budgetary performance.

In this role, you will: 

• Incorporate your project and contract financial accounting skills to provide analysis, detailed reporting, monitoring and resolution of financial accounting issues specific to projects.

• Provide assistance to the Executive Director and Project Management team on financial management specific to land development, including attendance at meetings with clients and consultants.

• Manage the provision of comprehensive financial reports for various high level stakeholders.

• Establish and maintain systems and processes including reconciliations of financial data to ensure corporate systems, project records and reports are accurate, consistent and complete, and adequately supported for audit purposes.

• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures and practices that facilitate and support management accounting within the department

• Provide advice, monitor and report on program funding arrangements and manage associated cost recovery processes.

• Support the EDQ's development activities by providing expert advice on asset accounting, recording and valuation policies, procedures and systems which contribute to enhanced asset management and satisfy financial reporting requirements.

• Ensure the Group's group activities meet Australian Accounting Standards, relevant financial management legislation and Treasury and Departmental guidelines

• Ensure the timely submission of financial information to central agencies such as Queensland Treasury's whole-of-government financial management system (TRIDATA)

• Liaise with Corporate Finance to ensure the group meets all financial requirements and financial issues are raised and addressed
